Ministry of Transport Conducts Compliance Inspection of Concession Companies
Last week, a delegation from the Ministry of Transport, led by Hon. Rudolph G. Natt, Deputy Minister for Land and Rail Transport, embarked on a critical compliance inspection tour across central and western Liberia, specifically targeting Margibi, Bong, Nimba, Grand Bassa, Bomi, Grand Cape Mount and Gbarpolu counties.
The primary goal of this trip was to assess the adherence of concession companies to Liberia’s vehicle and traffic laws. The inspection focused on ensuring that these companies register their vehicles, obtain necessary driver's licenses, insurance documents and secure eligibility certificates from the Ministry of Transport.
Accompanying Hon. Natt were notable officials including Hon. James K. Momo, Assistant Minister for Administration and Insurance, and Hon. Zunu K. Duyann, Assistant Minister for Land and Rail Transport, among other staff members.
These inspections are part of an ongoing effort by the Ministry to promote compliance within the transportation sector, thereby enhancing safety and regulatory adherence in Liberia. The findings from this tour will inform future policies and enforcement strategies to ensure that all transportation operations are aligned with national laws and regulations.
