Ministry of Transport Achieves Remarkable Revenue Milestone, Generates $7.2 Million in Five Months

The Ministry of Transport has generated an impressive $7.2 million for the Liberian government within just five months. This notable achievement was disclosed by Transport Minister Sirleaf Ralph Tyler during President Joseph N. Boakai's fifth cabinet meeting held at the Executive Mansion on Thursday, August 1, 2024, in Monrovia.

Minister Tyler revealed that the Ministry is on track to generate $9.2 million before the end of the 2024/2025 revenue fiscal year. He attributed this success to the collective efforts of his two Deputies, Assistant Ministers, Directors of various Divisions, and the entire staff at the Ministry of Transport. "This milestone is the result of outstanding teamwork and dedication across all levels of the Ministry," Minister Tyler stated.

During his presentation to President Boakai and the Liberian cabinet, Minister Tyler emphasized that with continued and necessary support from the Government of Liberia, the Ministry could significantly increase its revenue generation capabilities. "If we receive the necessary backing, our potential to generate even more revenue for the government is immense," he added.

President Boakai lauded the Ministry of Transport for its exemplary performance and pledged his full support to all sectors of his government in the best interest of the Liberian people. He reiterated his administration's commitment to maintaining integrity and transparency, warning cabinet members against corruption. "I commend the Ministry of Transport for its hard work and success. Let this be a benchmark for all other sectors. We must remain vigilant against corruption, and any member of my cabinet found guilty will face immediate dismissal," President Boakai asserted.

This revenue milestone by the Ministry of Transport underscores the effectiveness of collaborative efforts and strategic management within the government. It also highlights the potential for further economic growth and development in Liberia when key sectors are adequately supported and managed with integrity.

As the Ministry of Transport continues its mission to enhance Liberia's transport infrastructure and services, this achievement sets a promising precedent for future initiatives and underscores the Ministry's crucial role in the nation's economic advancement.
