Transport Assistant Minister Zunu K. Duyann attends Prestigious Training in Washington, DC, USA, hosted by the International Road Federation (IRF) to improve Road Safety in Liberia.

Monrovia, Liberia – July 31, 2024 – In a significant step towards enhancing road safety and infrastructure in Liberia, the Assistant Minister for Land and Rail Transport, Hon. Zunu K. Duyann, is attending a two-week intensive training program on "Safer Roads by Designs and Road Safety Audit" in the United States of America.

This esteemed training, designed to equip transportation leaders with cutting-edge knowledge and skills, highlights Liberia's dedication to improving road safety and reducing traffic crashes.

Hon. Zunu’s participation in this program underscores the Ministry of Transport's commitment to adopting international best practices in road safety.

The training, hosted by a leading transportation institute in the USA, brings together experts worldwide to share innovative strategies and technologies to create safer road environments.
The program will cover a wide range of topics, including:
• ⁠Road Safety Audits: Techniques for systematically evaluating potential road safety issues and implementing corrective measures.
•    Designing Safer Roads: Best practices in road design that prioritize safety for all users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists
•    Crash Data Analysis: Methods for analyzing traffic crash data to identify high-risk areas and develop targeted interventions.
•    Community Involvement: Strategies for engaging local communities in road safety initiatives to foster a safety culture.

Hon. Zunu’s participation is particularly timely as Liberia continues facing road traffic safety challenges.
