Monrovia, Wednesday, April 18, 2018: A high-powered French Business Delegation from Toulouse, Southern France Based Turboprob Aircraft Manufacturers, ATR, led by Mr. Tarek Ben Omarane, Head of Airline and Product Marketing, on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, met with Liberia’s Transport Minister, Hon. Samuel A Wlue, Hon. Wil Bako Freeman,Managing Director Liberia Airports Authority (LAA) and Hon J. Emmanuel Nuquay, Director General, Liberia Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA) respectively at his Carey & Warren Streets Offices.

Briefing Minister Wlue and his officials, Mr. Tarek Ben Omarane said his team was in the country to explore investment opportunities specifically in the aviation sector for which they have come to meet and hold technical discussions with the relevant authorities. Concluding, Mr. Omarane expressed appreciation to the Minister and team for the warm reception.
Receiving the French Delegation, Minister Wlue expressed joy for the team’s visit and said the visit is a direct result of President Weah’s trip to France in February, 2018, during which he met with Executives of the Company and extended invitation to investors in France to come to Liberia to explore possible investment opportunities in the Liberian economy. The Minister furthered that the team from ATR was therefore in the country to conduct feasibility studies that will lead to the resuscitation of Air Liberia-Airline for local and regional travels which existed in the country prior to the Liberian civil war.
The ATR, established in November, 1981, is a joint partnership between two major European Aeronautics Players, Air Bus and Leonardo. It manufactures two Turboprob Aircrafts, the70-seat ATR 72 and the 50–seat ATR 42. Both Aircrafts benefit from fuel emissions and cost efficiencies provided by Turboprob engines. It also provides airline with the best opportunities for operating short-haul routes at a low operating cost.
The occasion was attended by the Deputy Ministers for Administration and Land a Rail respectively, Honorables: Sirleaf R. Tyler and J. Darious Kollie
