The Ministry of Transport informs the public with profound regrets and sadness, the death of Mr. Nimene Sumo, the principal driver assigned to the Minister of Transport. He died on Saturday, October 11, 2014.

Preliminary result from the Ministry of Health Testing Center has revealed Mr. Sumo died of the Ebola Virus Disease.
The Ministry wishes to inform the general public, that the deceased made no contact with the Minister of Transport since his last day of work on Friday, October 3rd, 2014.
Consistent with Government’s preventive measures against EBOLA, which the Ministry has remained supportive of, a number of stringent measures have been instituted to further buttress the Ministry’s continuous efforts to combat Ebola:

 

1.That, as a matter of precaution, the Minister of Transport has decided to voluntarily isolate herself for a period of 21 days commencing  October 3, 2014 the last day of work of Mr. Nimene Sumo and her last day of interaction with him:

 

2.That the Ministry of Transport has requested the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare to conduct a decontamination of the entire building of the Ministry of Transport with immediate effect:

 

3.That the administration of the Ministry of Transport is encouraging every official and employees who may have interacted with the Late Sumo to remain home for 21 days to also observe their health conditions as of the last day of interaction with him.
