Monrovia, Friday, February 17, 2017: The Ministry of Transport (MOT) on Friday, February 17, 2017 played the National Housing Authority (NHA) in soccer and kickball matches at the Barracks Young Controllers (BYC) sports pitch, the Blue Field, in the PHP Community in Monrovia.


The ‘Transporters’ of the Ministry of Transport defeated the National Housing Authority 1-0 in the soccer match and 19-5 points in the kickball match respectively.
The Transporters’ lone goal came in the 43-minute of the  second half after referee blew for a penalty foul against the Ministry of Transport when Waka Heron, playing the midfield for the Transporters was brought down in the 18-yard box of the NHA. The penalty kick was taken and scored by Ojuku Weah frustrating the boys of the National Housing Authority a 1-0 victory.


The friendly matches which were organized by the Minister of Transport, Hon. Samuel A. Wlue, who also served as Director General of the National Housing Authority before his appointment as Minister of Transport, brought together both employees of the Ministry of Transport and the National Housing Authority as well as sports lovers. “This is another way of maintaining the spirit of unity amongst government employees”, Minister Wlue said.
