The Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the United States of America accredited to Liberia, Her Excellency Deborah Malac, on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Liberia, Madam Angela Cassell Bush at her offices on Broad Street.

Briefing Minister Cassell Bush and members of the Senior Management Team of the Ministry of Transport, Ambassador Malac said the purpose of the courtesy visit was to bid the Minister and official family farewell as she prepares to leave Liberia on December 18, 2015 following the successful end of her official three-year tenure in Liberia. She recounted the historic friendly ties existing between the United States and Liberia. She emphasized that her country will always support Liberia in its post war recovery programs. Ambassador Malac said during her stay in Liberia she enjoyed cordial working relationship with all institutions of government, development partners, civil society organizations, the media, etc.

In response, Transport Minister Angela Cassell Bush thanked Ambassador Malac for the visit to bid her farewell. She praised the Ambassador for being a down-to-earth diplomat who visited the length and breadth of Liberia and identified with the people at all times. She extolled her for her achievements in further cementing the friendly ties between the two countries. She commended the United States for identifying with Liberia at all times. Minister Cassell Bush named one of such critical moments as the fight against the deadly Ebola Virus Disease in 2014. "We owe you as a country, Madam Ambassador for your personal role during the fight, she said. Your departure at this time, though sad, we wish you God’s choicest blessings and success in your future diplomatic endeavors. Please remember Liberia as your home", the Transport Boss concluded.

The Ambassador was later presented a gift (a beautifully designed dress) by Minister Cassell Bush on behalf of the Ministry of Transport, which was happily received.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Ministers for Administration/Insurance and Land & Rail Transport respectively, Honorables Bushuben M. Keita and Juanita T. Bropleh.
