Ministry of Transport Sensitizes LNP on New Vehicle License Plates

A one day sensitization workshop with the police on the design coding and classification of the New Motor Vehicle License Plates for 2015 – 2020 was Wednesday, September 2, 2015 conducted at the Headquarters of the Liberia National Police (LNP) on Capitol Hill, in Monrovia, Montserrado County


Briefing participants at the workshop, Deputy Minister for Land & Rail, Ministry of Transport, Hon. Juanita Traub-Bropleh said, the workshop was necessary so that members of the Liberia National Police can be fully cultured about the characters on the New Plates. She said it is important that the Liberia National Police which has the statutory mandate to do enforcement be fully enlightened about the new plates to place them in a better position to know what to check for. Minister Bropleh extolled the cordial working relations between the Ministry of Transport and the Liberia National Police and pledged to further cement the ties. She encouraged participants to give full attention to and actively participate in the deliberations of the workshop to obtain detail knowledge about the new plates.


Speaking on behalf of the Liberia National Police, Hon. Sadatu L.M. Reeves, Commissioner for Administration and Professional Standards, thanked the administration of the Ministry of Tranaport for organizing the workshop which she said will further sharpen the professional skills of members of the Liberia National Police to track down would be violators. She called on police officers attending the workshop to take advantage of the opportunity so that knowledge acquired can be fully utilized during the discharge of their daily duties. She appealed to authorities of the Ministry of Transport to continue organizing more of these informative workshops to enable the Police to be properly armed with the necessary information about the new plates. She further encouraged the Ministry of Transport to print out educative brochures and other public awareness materials about the new plates that will be distributed to the Liberia National Police and the general public nationwide.


The workshop which lasted for about three hours; was very inter-active, and attended by over 50 participants including Police Officers from the Motor Vehicle, Traffic and Ticketing Sections of the Liberia National Police, Directors from the Ministry of Transport, the Press, among others.
