Monrovia: Friday, August 30, 2019: A 3–man Ivorian Business Delegation on Friday, August 30, 2019 paid a courtesy call on the Acting Minister of Transport, Honorable J. Darious Kollie at his Carey/Warren Streets offices in Monrovia.

Briefing Acting Minister Kollie, the head of the delegation, Mr. Zoumanan Sanogo thanked him for the warm welcome accorded his team. He informed the Minister that the purpose of his team’s visit to the Ministry in particular is to explore some investment opportunities in the transport sector of Liberia. Mr. Sanogo during the interactions inquired from the Minister if there were special conditions that require fulfilling before realizing the possibility of any investment in the transport sector in Liberia.

Responding, Minister Kollie thanked Mr. Sanogo and his team for their visit to Liberia which he said demonstrates the growing confidence of the international community in the Administration of H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia. He briefed the delegation about the overall statutory mandate of the Ministry of Transport which include but not limited to policy formulation and regulation of all modes of transport in the Republic of Liberia including land, air and sea. He also informed the team about the numerous Board of Director of agencies on which the Ministry is placed including but not limited to Liberia Airport Authority, Liberia Maritime Authority (LMA), National Port Authority (NPA), Liberia Civil Aviation Authority, and the National Transit Authority (NTA) among others. Minister Kollie expressed happiness and preparedness of the Ministry to working with both national and international groupings through collaborations and partnership where feasible for the development of Liberia. He also briefed the team about some of the major programs and activities of the Ministry of Transport as well as the Pro – Poor Agenda of Government. The 3 – man team which visited the Ministry of a Transport is part of a delegation of the Ivorian Chambers of Commerce headed by Mr. Sephane AKA–Anghui, President of the Ivorian Chamber of Commerce currently visiting Liberia to explore investment opportunities in the various areas.

The hour long interactive meeting was attended by Mr. Behou Jean – Marie, head of agency of the Ivorian Tourism Transport Events, an interpreter, on the Ivorian side, and Mr. Gallow Brown, Administrate Coordinator in the office of the Deputy

Minister for Land/Rail, the Director and Assistant Director of Press and Public Affairs of the Ministry of Transport among others.
