Friday, October 12, 2018: Transport Minister, Samuel A. Wlue has called on employees of the Ministry of Transport to be good stewards of their time by demonstrating on the job punctuality, honesty, discipline and hard work to leave positive footprints on the sand of time during their stay at the Ministry of Transport.

 

Officially launching the employees’ sign-in and sign-out biometric machine on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Ministry, Minister Wlue lauded the GIZ he said has been a very good partner to Ministry of Transport. He named some of the major projects with which the GIZ is engaged with the Ministry as the Safe Streets Festival of 2017, Road Safety, Reform, among others. He told the staff that history will judge us for positive things we do. Minister Wlue concluded that the Ministry looks forward to more engagements with the GIZ.

 

GIZ’s County Director, Mr. Malte Kirchner, for his part, historicized the MoT- GIZ relationship which began in 2008 under the program “Capacity Development for Liberia’s Transport Sector under which GIZ has been giving technical and other support to the Ministry of Transport. He said the donation of five biometric devices is another of his organization’s contribution towards the overall payroll cleaning exercise which will save Government some millions of United States Dollars.

 

Introducing the occasion earlier, Assistant Transport Minister For Administration & Insurance, Nuwoe A.D. Scott said the official launching of the biometric machine is a great step forward and also thanked the partners for the support.
